Dmitry Dontsov, CEO & Founder Spinbackup talks​ ​about​ ​Spinbackup​ ​and​ ​what​ ​makes​ ​it​ ​different​ ​from​ ​other​ ​cybersecurity companies. Spinbackup is a Cloud Cybersecurity and Cloud-to-Cloud Backup solutions provider for G Suite and Office 365.

What makes Spinbackup different is that we combine data loss and data leak protection solutions, with backups a big part of our sophisticated cybersecurity platform. SImply said, we merge the backup and cybersecurity market together and offer them both in one well-designed dashboard.

What​ ​products​ ​do​ ​you​ ​offer​ ​to​ ​protect​ ​business​ ​and​ ​individuals?
Dontsov: We provide Cloud-to-Cloud Backup for personal Google accounts (B2C users). Additionally, we provide Cloud Cybersecurity and Backup for G Suite organizations (B2B customers). This quarter, we will start offering protection for Office 365 users as well.

Early​ ​this​ ​year,​ ​Spinbackup​ ​announced​ ​Cloud​ ​Cybersecurity​ ​for​ ​G​ ​Suite​ ​Version​ ​1.0. Explain​ ​the​ ​functionality​ ​of​ ​this​ ​product.

Dontsov: The main goal of releasing this new solution is to protect organizations against insider threats and ransomware. Here we provide third-party apps for auditing, domain auditing, custom policies, ransomware protection, security alerts, and more.

How​ ​much​ ​does​ ​it​ ​cost​ ​to​ ​protect​ ​business​ ​and​ ​sensitive​ ​personal​ ​data?
Dontsov: We provide two plans for our B2B solution – “Backup, Recovery, & Cybersecurity” for $5 per user per month, and “Backup & Recovery” for $3 per user per month. We provide one plan for our B2C Solution, “Backup & Recovery” for $24 a year. Spinbackup​ ​customers​ ​include​ ​over​ ​1,000​ ​organizations​ ​with​ ​more​ ​than​ ​150,000​ ​G​ ​Suite users​ ​and​ ​20,000​ ​individual​ ​Google​ ​users.​

What​ ​has​ ​been​ ​the​ ​key​ ​to​ ​the​ ​company success?
Dontsov: We’ve reached this volume of customers in just 12 months. The key to this success has been top of the line marketing, an amazing sales team, and truly exceptional customer support. This has led to great conversion rates, low churn rates, and very satisfied customers in general.

Last​ ​month​ ​Spinbackup​ ​announced​ ​the​ ​launch​ ​of​ ​its​ ​initial​ ​Coin​ ​Offering​ ​(ICO) campaign​ ​to​ ​sell​ ​its​ ​own​ ​digital​ ​tokens.​ ​Why​ ​did​ ​you​ ​decide​ ​to​ ​launch​ ​ICO?

Dontsov: It’s actually not an Initial Coin Offering, it’s a pre-sale of our product through a token sale. Our vision here is to adopt blockchain technology, which will help us provide our customers state-of-the-art data protection services. We’d like to create a security bridge between the blockchain community and cloud services, and we’d like to ask blockchain users (token holders) to help adopt our solutions to cloud users.

Recently,​ ​Spinbackup​ ​raised​ ​$500K​ ​in​ ​funding.​ ​How​ ​is​ ​the​ ​company​ ​intending​ ​to​ ​use​ ​the fund?

Dontsov: We are going to expand our products in the field of blockchain and add two new innovative products: Blockchain SSO and Cloud to Blockchain Backup. We will also expand and improve demand generation on the market.

What​ ​are​ ​the​ ​challenges​ ​in​ ​current​ ​cybersecurity​ ​measures​ ​and​ ​how​ ​is​ ​Spinbackup helping​ ​to​ ​overcome​ ​them?

Dontsov: As the recent Equifax data breach indicated, centralized architecture of existing platforms is no longer strong enough to withstand hacker attacks. Spinbackup is helping to overcome this by offering a decentralized network and significantly improving data security at any organization. Another challenge is that traditional password protection no longer guarantees the privacy of your data. This is why Spinbackup is going to offer a password-free login powered by Blockchain Single Sign On.

What​ ​are​ ​the​ ​plans​ ​Spinbackup​ ​has​ ​for​ ​the​ ​future?

Dontsov: We plan to support as many cloud services as possible, adopt blockchain technology, and take over this market by storm.
Is​ ​there​ ​anything​ ​I​ ​didn’t​ ​mention​ ​or​ ​ask​ ​that​ ​you​ ​want​ ​to​ ​share?
Dontsov: We are launching a public pre-sale of our tokens on October 18, and we will be offering a 30% discount. That said, we invite everyone to join the token sale and become a part of our team and vision to build the future of cybersecurity.
