Welcome to SpinOne for Slack.

Today, we’ll be discussing SpinBackup for Slack.

Navigate on the left hand toolbar to account beneath settings.

Here, you’ll be greeted with visibility into your data retention policy.

Six months being the minimum, and definitely being the maximum.

Additionally, have visibility into your storage provider and storage region location, and the registration process of Spin, select between Azure, AWS, or GCP as a storage provider, and then select one of four regions of where you would like your physical data to be stored.

Navigate to the Workspaces tab beneath backup on the left hand toolbar to be greeted with visibility and to your onboarded and protected workspaces.

To add additional workspaces, select Add a Workspace and sign in to your workspace.

To view the backups of a workspace, simply click into a workspace and see channels and messages.

The two services that are being backed up for Slack.

To have his ability to private and public channels selected Channels.

To have visibility into DMs and group DMs, select Messages.

Within these services, you have action abilities such as backup, restore, and download, the ability to launch a manual backup in addition to your automated daily backups, as well as restore data, whether it be to the same channel or restore with the same members.

Also, have the ability to download data to your local device with this visibility and action ability comes versioning capability, giving you the ability to go back in time to previously taken snapshots or backups of your data and see the environment as it was on that specific day and time.

For visibility into users, and whether or not they’ve granted permission to back up your DMs and group DMs, come here to the User’s tab on the left hand tollbar.

Green status means authorized. A user is allowing the backing up of their DMs and group DMs.

A blue status means that the request was sent. An alert from Spin on Slack is asking the user to authorize to back up DMs in group DMs, as well as private channels, to which they are tied.

Coming into a yellow status, this means Unauthorized.

The user has unauthorized Spin to back up their group DMs and private DMs.

To refresh the list of your users, select Refresh, for authorization, select this to send a mass authorization notification to the workspace to back up DMs and group DMs.
